Tesla Model 3: 2021–2023 vs 2024–2025 (“Highland” Refresh)

Model 3 (2021–2023)

Often referred to as the “pre-Highland” version, this Model 3 features:

• Traditional gear and indicator stalks on the steering column

• Centre console with sliding lid storage and visible cup holders

• Standard dashboard without ambient lighting

• Chrome delete on door handles and window trims (post-2021)

• Distinct tail lights with separate fog and reverse lights

Interior Layout:
These models retain the original minimalist design but include physical controls, which many users still prefer. Accessories such as screen protectors, organiser trays, pedal covers, and dash trims are all designed to fit this layout specifically.

Model 3 (2024–2025 “Highland” Refresh)

The 2024 refresh introduced significant changes, including:

• Removal of gear and indicator stalks, replaced by steering wheel haptic controls and touch-based gear selection

• Ambient lighting along the dashboard

• Slimmer, more modern headlights and tail lights

• New rear screen for rear passengers in some trim levels

• Revised dashboard with fabric inlays and a quieter cabin

Interior Layout:
This version has a redesigned centre console and updated trim materials, so earlier Model 3 accessories are not fully compatible. Dedicated products for the Highland version include specific storage trays, screen protectors, and updated trims.

Tesla Model Y: 2022–2024 vs 2025 Refresh

Model Y (2022–2024)

The original Model Y shares much of its design and component layout with the pre-Highland Model 3. Key features include:

• Gear and indicator stalks

• Traditional steering wheel without haptic inputs

• Matte centre console design similar to 2021 Model 3

• Larger boot and more vertical seating compared to the Model 3

Interior Compatibility:
Most accessories from the 2021–2023 Model 3 are also compatible with the 2022–2024 Model Y, with differences mainly in fit due to the SUV form factor (e.g. boot mats, under-seat storage, and seatback protectors).

Model Y (2025 “Juniper” Refresh)

Tesla introduced a soft refresh to the Model Y starting in 2025, including:

• Removal of indicator and gear stalks

• New steering wheel with haptic touch controls

• Slight updates to interior materials and lighting

• Changes vary depending on the manufacturing plant (e.g. Berlin vs Shanghai production)

Interior Compatibility:
